Probably one of my favorite piece, and one of the most challenging to date. Inspired after “Big Red” himself, Doombringer Mantle is an incredibly heavy jacket. Both figuratively and physically. The “rollo” studs as I like to call them, add almost 2 lbs. to the jacket.
This was the first jacket I ever worked on that wasn’t denim. The jacket is based off 100% cotton canvas, and it was actually very easy to work with. So easy, that I lobbed the right arm off and added our very own “stone” fist.
The Egyptian symbols you see around the jacket were a personal touch for Ariel. She requested an Egyptian like vibe for some of it, so of course I cracked out the light board and canvas. They were a blast to draw and include in this jacket.
Also, props to my model, Andrew, for braving the Midwestern blizzard to take these pictures out on Lake Erie. Sub-zero temps? What a champ.
