004 - WARCHIEF REGALIA

Do you ever just look at something and go, “Yea, that needs more spikes and bones...” ? Welcome to the birth of my craziest piece, WARCHIEF REGALIA.

Now the owner of 2 of my projects, Chad and I hit the books for some ideas. Chad is an avid World of Warcraft fan, and a Horde Faction player (much like myself back in the day). So when I approached him for an idea of a new Horde themed jacket, his eyes lit up, and we got to work.

To clear some of the confusion, Yes, those bones are real. Why would I use real bones on a jacket? Call it being a madman, if you will. It was something I wanted to experiment with, and I believe it lent the jacket the base of the look for the Horde.

As you can see in one of the pictures, the armor on the shoulder was initially meant to have Fur between it and the jacket. but, due to sizing and strange proportions, we cut that part out. I find the overall product to be better.

The most interesting part about this project was the “leather” straps. I utilized a faux suede and some nylon straps to create a fake leather strap and used that on several parts of the jacket. The studs gave it the bolted in vibe.

This project was finished right before BlizzCon. If it had fit me, I would have brought it to the convention, but, I figured Chad would be the one to wear it when we go next year.
